Robert spent the first part of his career where the stakes were highest: advising the C-suite of a publicly traded company, and before that drafting for Utah's largest law firm. He has reviewed and negotiated contracts with billion-dollar counterparties, structured entities, chaired an AI oversight committee, and built privacy and compliance programs supporting operations in more than fifteen jurisdictions.
Earlier he spent eight years in chief-of-staff roles supporting executive leadership at a global organization with roughly 30,000 employees. That is where the preference for working process over polished memoranda comes from — documents that sit in a binder do not help anyone at the moment the decision has to be made.
He founded SunCrest Law to bring that work directly to the people who need it and are least likely to get it: owners, families, and companies too small to carry a legal department but too exposed to go without one.

Robert practices in English and Spanish, studied law in Paris as well as Boston, and chairs the Cyberlaw Section of the Utah State Bar. He writes and speaks on AI governance, privacy, and the compliance questions that come with operating across borders.
His 2011 article in the Human Rights Brief examined French law on religious freedom — early work in the comparative-law interest that later became a practice spanning more than a dozen jurisdictions.
