SunCrest Law / Services / Records governance
Preservation failures turn manageable disputes into sanctions.
The hold letter is the easy part. What causes problems is everything after it: custodians who never acknowledged, systems nobody thought to suspend, automatic deletion that kept running, and a retention schedule that conflicts with the preservation obligation nobody reconciled it against.
- A dispute is reasonably anticipated and you need a hold issued properly and fast.
- You have holds outstanding and no reliable record of who acknowledged what.
- Your retention schedule and your preservation obligations have never been reconciled.
- You have no records function and the obligation currently sits with whoever noticed it.
This is narrower than the other programs and often runs alongside one of them rather than standing alone. It is included here because it is the obligation most often discovered late, and because the cost of getting it wrong is asymmetric — a preservation failure can matter more than the underlying dispute.

Where routine deletion has to be suspended, how, and who confirms it happened.
Ongoing hold administration, annual schedule review, and support on discovery scope.
Ongoing work is arranged separately once the program is complete, so the decision to continue is made with the finished product in hand rather than at the outset.
Administered litigation holds and document retention orders for a NASDAQ-listed company, including custodian identification, ESI category scoping, e-signature routing, acknowledgment tracking, and consolidated execution packages.
How this is priced
This program is quoted as a fixed fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. The scoping call that produces the quote is free and carries no obligation. Where a matter genuinely does not suit a fixed fee, that is said upfront rather than discovered at the first invoice.
